Filmmaker Karan Johar’s love to theatrics and big spectacle is taking the netizen with frenzy. The director dropped a cryptic video, revealed that he is announcing his next production tomorrow.

From the video, it looks like Karan is hinting at Dostana 2, a sequel to the 2008 hit Dostana. Fans seemed think the same and flooded the comments section with their guesses. The music is apparently the giveaway, it does sound like background score from Dostana.


Dostana, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, featured John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan as two straight men who pretend to be gay in order to share an apartment with Priyanka Chopra. However, both of them ended up falling in love with her.


News has been viral was the longest that Dostana 2 will feature John Abraham, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. It is being said that John and Rajkummar will play two gay men pretending to be straight, leading to hilarious complications.


Karan Johar will soon be returning to directions chair with Takht, which is an upcoming Indian period drama set in 17th century Mughal India during the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (1628-1658).


It stars Ranveer Singh as Dara Shukoh and Vicky Kaushal as Aurangzeb with an ensemble cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor.
